Tishawn Dawkins made an impact for the Union County Yellow Jackets and he'll look to do the same in college.

Dawkins signed a national letter of intent to play college football for Livingstone College in Salisbury, N.C., on Friday in the high school's gymnasium.

Dawkins was hampered by a knee injury last season, but by year's end was as good as anybody, UCHS coach David Lipsey said.

“He has tremendous potential,” he said. “He'll immediately make Livingstone better on defense.”

Livingstone was winless last season, but the addition of Dawkins should help change that. The Blue Bears will utilize Dawkins as a defensive tackle, the same position he played for the Yellow Jackets.

Dawkins, 6-3, 256, said he chose Livingstone because he liked the “environment and coaches.”

He plans on studying business management.
