Union County Stadium will play host to the community Thursday, August 16th as WBCU puts on its annual family picnic.  This year, we’re expanding the event into a community pep rally.  The gates will open at 5, and the event will start at 5:30.  There will be free food, free t-shirts and gift bags, exhibits from local businesses, the bouncy castle and slide for the kids, team and player introductions, remarks from the coaches, performances from the UCHS marching band, the USC-Union Music Club Band, gospel music from the Childers and the Oakbrook Community Praise Team, and special guest artist Rodney Clawson.

Clawson is a Nashville singer-songwriter who has three #1 hits to his credit:  Jason Aldean’s “Why,” Big and Rich’s “Lost in This Moment,” and Tim McGraw’s “Watch the Wind Blow By.”

The crew from South Carolina Sports Talk will be on hand for the event as well, and will broadcast live from Union County Stadium from 6-8.  Again, the event will be held at Union County Stadium Thursday, August 16th at 5:30 p.m., with the gates opening at 5.
